Processing Phases
After a Seed Case is loaded to create a Snapshot, Cruncher applies a sequence of Processing Phases. Each phase introduces data or configuration that modifies the case before results are saved. Phases can be enabled or disabled individually, and each has its own configuration dialog in the Study settings.
Common Elements
Most processing phases share a few common controls:
- Enable — Determines whether the phase runs for the current Study or Snapshot.
- Set-up — File or folder of AUX scripts applied before the phase logic executes.
- Clean-up — File or folder of AUX scripts applied after the phase completes (if supported).
Available Phases
The following processing phases are supported in Cruncher. Each is described in detail on its own page. When enabled, they proceed in the following order:
- Outages — Apply scheduled outages active at the Snapshot time and/or Revert scheduled outages active in the Seed Case.
- Weather — Import temperature forecasts and adjust limits accordingly.
- Forecasts — Apply generator and/or load forecasts from Time-varying CSV files.
- Voltage Conditioning — Apply scheduled voltage targets across regions, seasons, and holidays.
- Optimal Power Flow (OPF) — Run an OPF step using default or custom configuration to target specific Interface flows.
After all enabled phases have been applied, the Snapshot case is saved to the results directory and becomes available for later Analysis.
