Weather Phase

The Weather phase introduces temperature forecast data into a Snapshot case. Weather data can be used by Simulator to adjust system parameters such as branch limits based on thermal ratings. This phase ensures that each Snapshot reflects the expected environmental conditions at its target time.

Configuration Options

• Enable — Toggles whether the Weather phase runs for the Study or Snapshot.
• Set-up — File or folder of AUX scripts to be run before weather data is applied. This may be used to configure WEATHERSTATION objects and create mappings to them for relevant system devices.
• Clean-up — File or folder of AUX scripts to be run after weather data is applied.
• Weather Forecast — Path to a Time Varying CSV file containing forecast data for WEATHERSTATION objects.

Phase Operation

1. Run any Set-up AUX files.
2. Read forecast values from the specified CSV file.
3. Apply values to WEATHERSTATION objects for the Snapshot time or duration window.
4. Instruct Simulator to update dependent system parameters such as branch limits and renewable generation limits. For more details, refer to AUX Script documentation for TemperatureLimitsBranchUpdate and WeatherPFWModelsSetInputsAndApply.
5. Run any Clean-up AUX files.
